Autoflowering cannabis plants start flowering on their own within 2-4 weeks of germination. Classic varieties, both Indica and Sativa dominant, are photoperiodic plants.
Therefore, they are traditionally exposed to 12 hours of light in order to induce flowering indoors but might not have enough time to finish outdoors before the days get shorter – unlike autoflowering strains.
They are Indica or Sativa plants crossbred with a Ruderalis representative, making them the perfect choice for areas where summer is very short with few hours of daylight. Ruderalis finishes flowering automatically in less than 6 weeks.
FEMINIZED CANNABIS SEEDS
Feminized cannabis seeds are designed to produce only female plants.
Usually, a cannabis seed can develop into a male or female plant; the entire process is determined by the sex expressing X and Y chromosomes. “Feminization” is a process of conditioning female plants to obtain male pollen needed for seed production.
A plant with two X chromosomes will be female 99% of the time, while regular cannabis seeds (XY genetic set) sometimes have a tendency to produce more male than female individuals.
CBD CANNABIS SEEDS
Medical marijuana seeds
The first medical use of cannabis traces back five thousand years ago to a Chinese botanist who prescribed marijuana as a cure for malaria, beriberi, constipation, rheumatic pains, lack of concentration and for several female ailments. Another ancient Chinese expert described a blend of cannabis resin and wine to be used as a painkiller.
In the early Nineties, medical cannabis use for therapeutic purposes became increasingly popular in the Western world, and at the moment it can even be purchased in pharmacies with a simple prescription. However, considering the expense and limited choice of available medical cannabis, many patients decide to grow their own.
